"In the Winners Don't Quit program, Tekoa taught me that well, winners don't quit. I was handed a book and a booklet by Dr. Pamela McCauley Bush that taught me to keep on going even in the hardest and toughest times."

"I learned that to be successful in life, you must do 5 steps. The first step is to set goals. Next is to make a plan that is like a map that tells you how to achieve your goal. Third is to work hard. The fourth step to being successful is to have positive association which means to get into positive organizations such as the Winners Don't Quit program or sports, have positive and encouraging people around you and to think positive. The fifth step is to never quit or give up and to believe in yourself.
I also learned that there are 3 types of goals: career goals, personal goals and academic goals. A career goal is like what you want to be when you grow up My career goal is to be an actress or a detective. A personal goal is what you want to set about yourself, such as cleaning more often or being happy more often. Also, an academic goal is what you want to achieve in school or at work. For example, my academic goal is to be a straight ‘A' student in 7 th grade."

"I am glad that I was involved in the Winners Don't Quit program. The Winners Don't Quit program taught me how to be positive and successful so if I stay positive and never give up, maybe they'll call me Detective!"

"I can't tell you how thrilled I was to introduce Pamela and "Winners Don't Quit" to my advisor team. Her passion for helping people to overcome adversity in their lives is obvious and her advice is practical and even more important, IMPLEMENTABLE and MEMORABLE. I had an entire day of business planning activities and seminars that day for my team and the one thing they all wanted to talk about afterwards in our debrief was Pam and her seminar. I am blessed to have such a wonderful woman as a friend and resource!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!"

"In my opinion Winners Don’t Quit was my wake up call. When things got tough I dropped out. I thought reality was too much for me to handle. My teacher Mrs. Bennett allowed me to have the opportunity to join this wonderful group that taught me a lot. Once I saw just how hard Dr. Bush worked for what she really wanted I knew I could do the same. Her family wasn’t much support, as well as my family was with me. I knew I could do it, but how long it would take me would be within the tips of my fingers. I decided my Senior year no more dropping out. No more excuses. This was my time to show the rest of the world what I could do, and not just be considered one of them stupid teens that dropped out of high school that would regret it for the rest of her life.
People tend to stereotype teen mothers and don’t realize how important and unique we really are. I will be attending college in the fall. I have participated in every organization possible, and will be coming back to tutor and mentor Emerson students. I want so much more for myself as well as my son. Dr. Bush gave me the adrenaline rush that not even I could do. If it weren’t for her and my son, I probably wouldn’t have graduated. If Dr. Bush only knew what an impact she has had on me she would be able to say a job well done. I have great respect for her, and truly believe this opportunity should her time to shine, and that she should have the recognition that she deserves. I want to be just like her and hopefully one day I’ll be able to write the next book, “Winners Don’t Quit . . . . Today They Call Me Successful.” If you could take into deep consideration to allow Dr. Bush this opportunity to tell the world what she has told us, I guarantee it will be deeply appreciated."

"The book was great I enjoyed very much. Dr. McCauley Bush she is a great guest speaker. She is an inspiring person to listen to and ask questions. Our School uses the Winner Don’t Quit book in a reading group to help with the supporting of college application, career interest, and vo tech technical programs. "

"I think this group helps very much. You relate to the book. You talk about it and it helps you to keep on going when you feel you have failed.

"I am glad I joined the Winners Don’t Quit Reading Group. We got to discuss about the book, and to compare our lives to Pamela, in which we found out we can set our goals, and achieve anything we want. Dr. Pamela McCauley Bush influenced me to go to college, and to get a career in engineering. I see Pamela, and I start to wonder, she is happy of achieving her goals. This is how I want to be. Achieve my goals like Pam, be happy with my career and my children. Whenever I feel down, or I feel stress, or even worse if I just want to give up, I do whatever Pamela says she does in the book. Sit down, write my future goals, how I can achieve them, and on the future outlooks whenever I achieve them. I really do hope everybody could have a little chance to read just the beginning. I promise you the book is so exciting and interesting that you won’t want to put it down. Even though we are teen moms our life isn’t over. We just now have more responsibilities. For this reason we should try harder to strive for what we believe in, and achieve our goals."

"At Emerson we now have a Winners Don’t Quit reading group at lunch time focused around the book and Dr. McCauley Bush. We first get the book to read and discuss then we get her video to take home and watch and listen to her speak about her life and triumphs. I love this club just because I get to meet a woman as amazing as this one to look up to. It is so cool because it really gives you self confidence and makes you feel unique in a good way. Another thing Dr. McCauley Bush does for us to encourage us to dream big, is give scholarships to our students. She gives three scholarships that varies in price but still an extraordinarily nice donation."
